I don't need no darned remote!
So we got our Apple TV back a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, the remote was not included with the device, which makes it quite difficult to use. Actually, you cannot use it. After looking up ways to get around the lack of remote and workarounds to get a iOS device connected to it, I just realized that my old iPad (yes, the original) was possibly set up to connect to the Apple TV! I had purged a lot of the apps, and many no longer work, but I wanted to see if it was still connected after all of these years. So I wired up the Apple TV to the network, tapped a few buttons, and voila! Connection! I will be setting up the Apple TV on our TV upstairs now. No remote required!
