The Big Day!
Well, this is the big day! There were lots of photos taken and plenty of things that happened but the day went by quickly so I'll just link the slideshow that Scott Drexler put together for us.
After the wedding Maggie and I went to get our photos done while the rest of the party went to the lunch venue. Here's an aside: We had planned to have the lunch held at the Beach House restaurant. When we originally looked at the regular restaurant menu, we were both a little disappointed in the choices. Neither of us wanted their usual catered wedding meal, as it looked boring and expensive. I did, however, come across a special Kau Kau menu that they promoted in the summertime which was a combination of dishes that were unique to Hawaii. Maggie loved the idea: Why go to the middle of the ocean to have steak when you can have poke? So the plan was to have this Kau Kau menu at the Beach House restaurant.
During our photo shoot, we got a call telling us that the Beach House restaurant was pretty busy and that the venue would be moved (free of cost) to another location. We didn't care too much since we were having a good time getting our pictures taken. When we arrived at the new venue, the Anuenue Room, we were surprised as to how nice the place was! The view was great, and the open-air lanai was a the right size for our small group of people and the food was fantastic! I was a little worried about choosing a menu without actually trying out the food, but everything turned out great. I would highly recommend going here for your wedding! (In fact, Maggie's co-worker is getting married there partially on our recommendation.)
After lunch, our entire party headed down to the pools and cabanas to relax and swim. We basically all had a wedding to go to the next day and didn't want to do anything too strenuous and not too late.
For dinner, Maggie and I invited Brad, Nancy, Hwan, Pauline and Hoi out to Kimo's restaurant as we did not have a chance to meet up with my friends who came out to the wedding yet!
